
John W. Burress, MD, MPH, FACOEM
Chief of Occupational Medicine

Dr. John W. Burress is an experienced occupational medicine physician with many years of service to the working men and women in the Boston area. Dr. Burress completed his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Kentucky. He completed a Family Medicine residency in Greenville, South Carolina and then his residency in Occupational and Environmental Medicine through the Harvard School of Public Health.

His training emphasized care for working populations, with clinical rotations in plastic surgery, sports orthopedics, and emergency medicine that built deep expertise in soft tissue repair, complex wound care, and acute injury management. He later directed Occupational Medicine clinics in community settings and spent ten years at Boston Medical Center as Medical Director of their Occupational Medicine Department.

In 2015, Dr. Burress founded OccMed Consulting & Injury Care to deliver timely, evidence-based care that prevents chronicity and improves outcomes. Overtime, Dr. Burress built a considerable following of construction-related employers but also serviced utility, transportation, and hospitality sectors. Dr. Burres has an established track record assisting with municipalities including their fire and police departments.

Dr. Burress provides disability management to government and private organizations in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. He is a Senior Aviation Medical Examiner and a HIMS AME. Dr. Burress serves as Co-Chair of the Massachusetts Department of Industrial Accidents Guideline Writing Committee and a past Chair of the Massachusetts Medical Society Public Health Committee and former national Board Member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. Dr. Burress enjoys writing and makes use of his clinical acumen and disability management experience to perform various evaluations including IME and impairment ratings.

Dena B. Stetson, CNP, COHN-S
Nurse Practitioner Lead

Dena Stetson has more than 30 years of experience in occupational medicine and primary care, with a background spanning hospital employee health and general industry occupational health settings. She serves as Nurse Practitioner Lead at BBJI OccMed.
​
Her expertise includes medical surveillance programs such as DOT physicals, audiometric testing, respirator fit testing, police and firefighter physicals, post-offer employment evaluations, and immunization review. She has extensive knowledge of office ergonomics, hearing conservation, DOT drug and alcohol testing, and pulmonary function testing.
​
Dena partners closely with employers to design occupational health services that protect employees while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations. She is passionate about patient education, including smoking cessation, weight management, and exercise counseling, recognizing that healthier employees benefit both themselves and their organizations.
​
She has served as a clinical preceptor for nurse practitioner students from Mass General Hospital, Simmons University, and UMass, and looks forward to continuing that role.

With a background in dance and exercise, Dena brings a practical understanding of body mechanics that supports injury prevention and workplace ergonomics.
Loddie Mosley
Director of Operations, Occupational Medicine

Leticia (“Loddie”) Mosley brings over two decades of experience in healthcare operations and care coordination, with a strong focus on orthopedic and occupational health environments. In her role supporting BBJI Occupational Medicine as Director of Operations, she helps drive efficient workflows, clear communication, and reliable coordination between providers, employers, and clinical teams.
Loddie’s experience spans complex scheduling, pre-visit coordination, and cross-functional collaboration in high-volume clinical settings. Supporting the Chief Medical Officer and Team Physician for the Boston Celtics has equipped her to proactively address operational challenges, improve workflow efficiency, and support consistent, high-quality care delivery.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Simmons College and is recognized for her organizational strength, discretion, and ability to support both clinical excellence and operational consistency, key components of BBJI OccMed’s employer-focused care model.
